How a round works

A geography lesson that counts for the cup.

Students use geographical knowledge and reasoning to compete in scored challenges that directly support geography curricula. Each round comes with a lesson plan and teacher guide, so it slots into the timetable like any other lesson.

Lesson plan · Round 3 · 50 minutes
  1. StarterMap skills recap: latitude, climate zones, landmarks.
  2. RoundFive GeoGuessr locations, 3 minutes each, played as a class.
  3. ReasoningStudents justify each guess — language, road signs, vegetation.
  4. SubmitThe teacher submits the class score within the round window.
Standings

Real standings, published every round.

Schools submit their class scores within a set window. Standings are updated across the season, with a final leaderboard published at the end of the cup.

Why it works

Built for the classroom, not around it

Everything a subject teacher needs to run a competition without becoming an esports coach.

Curriculum-aligned

Mapped to learning outcomes and subject content — with clear educational value at the core, not bolted on.

Ready to teach

Structured lessons, teaching materials, and teacher guides provided. Any teacher can run it — no gaming background needed.

Cup format

Classes compete asynchronously against schools around the world in a formal cup structure — with real standings and results.

Global reach

Schools from across DAIGON's association network participate — your students compete against international peers.

No live fixtures

Asynchronous by design. Schools play the challenges on their own timetable — no scheduling conflicts, no fixed match times.

More subjects, more cups

The Geography Cup is the first in a growing library of curriculum-aligned cups across different subjects. New cups will be announced for the next academic year — get in touch if you’d like to be involved from the start.
