The Alpha Esports League: A New Blueprint for Purposeful Screen Time
At DAIGON Esports, we have one mission: to reframe gaming from "screen time" to purposeful screen use. This is why we were thrilled to announce a landmark partnership with TAISI (The Association of International Schools of India) at the recent TAISI Conference 2025.
Together with KRAYON, we are launching the Alpha Esports League—India's first national, school-led esports championship. This initiative is not just about competition; it's about harnessing a student passion point to deliver essential 21st-century skills and global opportunities.
🇮🇳 The India Opportunity: A Nation on the Digital Ascent
India, with its vibrant educational landscape, represents the future of digital engagement. Globally we know that students are already gaming: the average child starts at age 7, and by middle school, 90% are playing regularly.
The Alpha Esports League offers school leaders the solution to a crucial question: How do we bring structure to that passion? The League establishes an official, supervised platform that turns a casual hobby into a routine activity that instills discipline, self-assessment, and a competitive mindset.

🧠 The Skills Pipeline: What Students Really Gain
The most immediate benefit of structured scholastic esports is the development of a core set of competencies that transcend the game:
Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving: Teams in games like Rocket League and Minecraft must synergize, strategize, and make quick decisions under pressure.
Teamwork & Communication: Success hinges on clear, real-time communication and collaboration—the same skills needed in any modern workplace.
Leadership & Resilience: Students learn to lead their peers, accept constructive criticism, and persevere after a loss, building essential mental toughness.
Career Readiness: The esports and video game industry is a rapidly growing global economic powerhouse. Esports provides a direct pathway to careers in Game Design, Production, Programming, Marketing, in a global industry worth over $300 billion per annum.

🌍 The Ultimate Prize: A Trip to the World Stage
The Alpha Esports League will offer great prizes for the winners of each game and section and also serves as a direct national qualifier, offering students the chance to compete for a spot in the School Esports World Championships (SEWC).
Organized by DAIGON Esports and supported by our partners like COBIS, ECIS, ISA, and BSME, the World Championships are held in Malta every October.
Teams compete in the exact same high-value titles featured in the Alpha League—Minecraft Capture the Flag (CTF) and Rocket League. Sending a team to the World Championships provides students with:
The thrill of global competition and cultural exchange.
Unrivaled visibility that could lead to college scholarships and career opportunities in the expanding industry.
This is the pinnacle of school-based esports, and the Alpha Esports League is the roadmap for your students to get there.
